Check out the betting odds for the PFL 2022 Championship, that have Kayla Harrison once again heavily favored over Larissa Pacheco in their trilogy bout.

Tonight at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in NYC we close out PFL’s 2022 season with their Championship PPV card. Six tournament champions will be crowned this evening, and the event will be headlined by a trilogy bout between Kayla Harrison and Larissa Pacheco. Before we get there, though, let’s skip on over to the betting odds.

It’s no surprise to see the oddsmakers heavily favoring Kayla Harrison over Larissa Pacheco here. Harrison was wildly favored in the first two encounters with Pacheco, and took home a win in both instances. Harrison is currently being offered up with a hefty -720 moneyline, while Pacheco is on deck as a +520 betting underdog.

Since their last meeting, Pacheco has finished four foes in a row with strikes, but the bookies are banking on Harrison being the one to come up with a stoppage tonight. The prop bet ‘Harrison wins inside distance’ holds a favored position of -165, while the ‘Pacheco wins inside distance’ option can be found floating deep into underdog territory at +650.

Pacheco has been on a mean streak as of late, but Harrison has been nothing but unbeatable from day one. It’s fair to say that Larissa clearly earned her spot here tonight against Kayla, but what (if anything) will be different this time around?

Who will win a million dollars tonight?

PFL is due to hand out six million dollar cheques in the cage tonight. Who gets them? Well, we’ll have to watch the find out.

At 2022 PFL championships, PFL will be crowning this season’s tournament winners. The main event will be their star attraction, Kayla Harrison, going for a three-peat in the lightweight tournament. Hoping to stop her from scooping three million dollar prizes will be Larissa Pacheco (who faced Harrison in her first PFL final in 2019).

The co-main event will be Brendan Loughnane vs. Bubba Jenkins in the final of the featherweight bracket. Also on the card is a non tournament bout featuring PFL debutants Julia Budd and Aspen Ladd.

Former Bellator fighter and pro-boxer Anthony Taylor recently made headlines for a brawl at a celebrity boxing event.

Dillon Danis has turned himself into something of a walking liability in the combat sports world. Despite not competing in any form of licensed grappling or striking events in the last 3+ years he’s become notable for finding himself in the middle of scraps. Most recently, Danis showed up for a Misfits Boxing x DAZN Series weigh-in event, where he squared off with noted celebrity pugilist Olajide William Olatunji—better known as ‘KSI’.

Things got a little chippy, with Danis smacking the hat off KSI’s head before getting escorted out of the building—which is where it all really kicked off. MMA fighter and boxer Anthony Taylor was on the scene and took exception to Danis’ attitude, pursuing the longtime grappler into the parking lot.

In the midst of the ensuing brawl, Taylor landed a hard right hand on Danis that sent the 29-year-old reeling. In a recent interview for MMA Fighting Taylor explained his actions, noting that he felt Danis was trying to “bully YouTubers” and pick on reporters.

“So he comes in to do his thing with KSI, flips his hat, or smacks him in the face, throws coffee and just runs off. Like, man, don’t come to a YouTube event trying to be a bully to other fighters, especially YouTubers who have no legitimate background in fighting. They’re learning how to fight. It’s called a YouTube event, don’t come over trying to be a bully. You don’t see Jon Jones trying to bully YouTubers.

“I took that in my hands to say something. Nobody, for years, has said or done anything to Dillon, and he’s gotten away with it for so many years doing it to Logan Paul, Jake Paul, to Khabib, to all of these [people], and he got away with it. Don’t come to an event, try and be a bully, push reporters, because now I’m going to call you out. You want to fight YouTubers and boxers, fight me. I’m an MMA fighter, too. What’s up? That’s how it escalated.”

Taylor added that he feels he only hit Danis with “30%” power on his punch, but that “without that truck being there, he would’ve fell.” Still, despite his seeming pride in his work, the 33-year-old Team Bodyshop talent also sounded a note of caution. The last thing he wants is for others to follow in his footsteps.

“But, we should never resort to violence, ladies and gentlemen,” Taylor said of his actions. “Don’t resort to violence because that’s not always the way to resort to things. I could’ve sat down and had a talk with him, ‘Hey Dillon, come sit down with me. Let’s go have a talk and drink some coffee.’ But instead, I said f-ck that, I’m going to hit you with an overhand right, buddy. I had to let it be known to the world. I’ve got kids coming to me saying, ‘Thank you for your service.’ What? I’ve never served in the military. ‘No, for what you did to Dillon Danis.’”

Eventually it seems that Taylor isn’t expecting to see any charges from the altercation. While he explained that he was fully willing to face the consequences of his actions, he also admitted he’s been relieved that no repercussions have been forthcoming.

“Nobody wanted to challenge him like that besides me. I was willing to take on the consequence. It could’ve been a bad situation there. It could’ve been a very bad situation with the aftermath of me hitting him. Thank God there was no bad repercussions on that.”

On the other side of things, Danis is now actually set to face off against KSI in the ring this coming January 14th at the MF & DAZN X Series 4 event in London, England. The two men are scheduled for six three-minute rounds of exhibition boxing. No other bouts have been announced for the card at this time.

The UFC is taking a rare week off for the Thanksgiving holiday, which means we’re giving thanks for all the good fights we get to watch by watching some less than sparkling examples of elite mixed martial arts competition. This week’s episode is centered around MMA’s nerdiest fighters and their horrible, soul crushing moments when they took on guys who were just way better.

Opening up the festivities is a relatively recent bout. Chase Hooper hit the Octagon for the second time as a pro back in 2020, when he fought Alex Caceres at UFC 250. Unfortunately for ‘The Dream’, ‘Bruce Leeroy’ put a three round whipping on him, and then dumped his books. From there we move to a 2017 bout between Jack Marshman and full-time web developer (part-time fighter) Ryan Janes at UFC Fight Night: Nelson vs. Ponzinibbio. Marshman followed a fairly one-sided three round drubbing by giving Janes a nasty swirly. And finally, to wrap the whole thing up, we went all the way back to 2014 and UFC 171, where Dennis Bermudez put a hurting on crafty grappler Jimy Hettes. A true locker-stuffing if ever there was one.

As is usual, we’re watching all three bouts on UFC Fight Pass. For those that want to watch along with us, press play on each video when Zane says “Go.” For those watching the fights via another resource, Connor will try to announce the beginning of round 1 so that videos can be synced up there.

Former UFC title contender Anthony Smith isn’t too convinced about Conor McGregor’s

Former UFC title challenger Anthony Smith is bothered by how Conor McGregor is seemingly healed up from his leg injury. “The Notorious” broke his leg at UFC 264 a year ago but has been posting training videos and hinting at a return.

“Lionheart” also finds it odd that McGregor was able to get himself out of the USADA testing pool even as an active fighter on the UFC roster.

“There’s only one reason you would do that. He’s looking jacked as shit. You keep seeing videos of him flexing in front of mirrors and screaming and he’s huge. He healed really fast. Like, really fast,” Smith said on the Believe You Me podcast (transcript by MMA Junkie).

Smith compared McGregor’s recovery to other fighters who suffered the same gruesome injury.

“(Chris) Weidman still hasn’t (from his broken leg). I talked to Weidman today. He’s still having struggles. He’s still struggling to get back. Anderson (Silva) took a long time. Corey Hill took a long time.

Anybody who’s broken their leg has taken a long time. He’s seemingly pretty healed up. It just bugs me that he gets to jump out of the pool, juice up on whatever he’s juiced on, and then just jump back in the pool and no one’s going to say shit about it?

“I don’t know. It’s weird. It bothers me.”

Since his UFC 264 loss to Dustin Poirier, McGregor (22-6) is staring at a two-fight skid. While on his current hiatus from fighting, the MMA star has been involved in other extra-curricular, including a role in the remake of the 1989 classic Road House.

‘Borrachinha’ believes the odds are in Chimaev’s favor if he were to fight Pereira for the middleweight title. 

Paulo Costa thought it was pretty clever of Khamzat Chimaev to challenge newly minted UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira.

Following his fifth-round TKO of Israel Adesanya at UFC 281 earlier this month, Pereira was declared ‘easy money’ by Chimaev, who wrote he would finish the new champion in one [round]. After seeing how Pereira struggled on the ground with Adesanya, the undefeated upstart wasted no time trying to get a fight on either UFC 282 or UFC 283. As far as former title contender ‘Borrahchina’ is concerned that was a smart approach by the Allstars Training Center fighter.

Speaking to Submission Radio recently, Costa explained why he would favor Chimaev over Pereira should they share the Octagon.

“It’s funny,” said Costa. “Yeah, he wants to beat Alex in Rio De Janeiro. Yeah bro, he’s smart, he’s smart. I think if he fought Alex, he will be a big problem to Alex, because Alex has no grappling. You know, MMA is so different to kickboxing. But yeah, I think odds is against Alex if that fight happens. But I don’t think they will be going, I don’t think that the fight will happen. I’d like to fight to him. I ask him to fight him a couple of weeks ago. He said, ‘No, I will still [compete] in 170, I will not go to 185’. But he saw a huge opportunity to get the belt easily.”

With UFC president Dana White and co. working on a potential fight between Chimaev and Colby Covington, it is unlikely that ’Borz’ will actually get the next shot at Pereira. That chance seems more likely to go to Adesanya, who has set his sights on a rematch.

As far as their first fight is concerned, Costa thought Adesanya fared well against Pereira until the fifth and final round. That said, ‘Borrachinha’ has no idea of how the rematch might go.

“[It] Was a very good fight,” said Costa. “I think Adesanya was a little bit better than Alex. But yeah, a couple of hands finished the fight. Alex has a lot of power in his hands — small gloves. I was happy. I was very happy for Alex.

“Adesanya has a problem to get hit,” continued Costa. “I think he’s not so durable as the other guys. Alex is durable. But Adesanya’s not too much. So, Adesanya did very well avoiding Alex for almost five rounds, but he could not avoid him to the end. You know, keep the distance until the end. So, he was caught. I don’t have a prediction for if they rematch.”

Glover Teixeira shares some insight on what led to him being pulled from UFC 282 after Jiri Prochazka’s shoulder injury.

The light heavyweight division is suddenly in disarray.

After champion Jiri Prochazka was forced to vacate his belt due to a serious shoulder injury—that may leave him sidelined for as much as a year—contenders Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev are now scheduled to fight for the vacant belt at UFC 283. In the wake of that news, however, it has to be wondered what’s happened to the man who was scheduled to take on Prochazka in the first place: former champion Glover Teixeira.

In a conversation on the Super Lutas’ YouTube channel, Teixeira revealed the negotiations he had with the world’s largest MMA promotion that led to him being pulled from the card. According to the Brazilian, the UFC wanted him to face Ankalaev for the vacant title on December 10th. But when Glover asked to move the fight to UFC 283 so that he would have more time to prepare for a new opponent, the UFC turned him down and decided to give Blachowicz the shot instead.

“I’ve just heard about this, maybe one hour ago,” Glover explained. “They had offered me Ankalaev because Jiri was injured. Since he has a totally different style, and we’ve been doing a training camp for Jiri for months, I asked for more time. I asked them to make the fight in Brazil. I told them I’d fight Ankalaev in Brazil, just so I could have a few more weeks to make a camp specifically for that guy.

“I’m 43 years old. I rely on my strategies so I can have a perfect fight and I really want to bring this belt back to Brazil. I think I’ve earned it. They told me the fight had to be in Vegas, so I told them I’d fight Jan in Vegas, because I have trained for his style before. They said ‘You’ve already beaten Blachowicz and he’s 39 years old’. I was like ‘Are you kidding me? I’m 43’,”

Now that he is out of the picture for the time being, Teixeira believes he has no other options but to wait for the winner of UFC 282’s main event. The way the John Hackleman disciple sees it, he should be the first in line to fight for the belt once a new champion is crowned. Nevetheless, he can’t help it but feel disrespected with the way the Dana White & Co. handled the situation.

“I’m going to wait. I’m probably the number one contender. I’ll face the winner of this fight. The UFC hasn’t told me anything, but it’s obvious, right? Myself, Jiri and Jan, those are the three who were at the top in the title mix. Ankalaev is here now, he was going to fight Jan in a title eliminator and the winner would face the winner of me against Jiri. Now I’m back in the line,”

“I felt a little disrespected,” Teixeira admitted. “Given everything I’ve done for this company. I’m a bit sad about this whole situation. Why wouldn’t they let me fight Jan? It’s two old timers fighting again, but it would sell more than this Ankalaev fight. We’re two heavy-hitters. It would sell more for sure, no disrespect to Ankalaev. He’s just not that well-known here in America. Maybe he is in Russia, I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t understand these things that they do.”

In his last outing, Teixeira (33-8) got submitted by Prochazka at UFC 275, losing the light heavyweight belt in the process. Before that, the 43-year-old was on a six-fight winning streak, which included victories over notable names such as Blachowicz, Thiago Santos and Anthony Smith.

Aaron Brink, who once fought in the UFC, says he praised his child for violent behavior in the past.

The mixed martial arts fighter who fathered the suspect in Saturday night’s shooting at a gay club in Colorado Springs believes he let his child down in the wake of the deadly attack.

“I praised [them] for violent behavior really early,” Aaron Brink, 48, told CBS 8. “I told [them] it works. It is instant and you’ll get immediate results.”

Anderson Lee Aldrich, 22, is facing five counts of first-degree murder and five counts of bias-motivated crimes causing bodily injury over the shooting at Club Q that killed five people. Aldrich is currently being held without bond at El Paso County jail.

The shooting occurred on the eve of the Transgender Day of Remembrance.

Brink found out about the shooting after receiving a call from Aldrich’s defense lawyers informing him that his child had been involved in a mass shooting. As a practicing Mormon, Brink first questioned why his child was in a gay bar, adding that “Mormons don’t do gay.” However, he was quick to add that there was no justification for killing innocent people.

“There’s no excuse for going and killing people,” Brink said. “If you’re killing people, there’s something wrong. It’s not the answer.”

Brink, who currently works as an MMA coach after compiling a 29-27 pro record during his 21-year career, was encouraged to enter the sport by his high school friend and former UFC champion Tito Ortiz. He debuted in 1998, shortly after serving time in prison on drug charges, and compiled a 3-1 record by the time his child was born in May 2000. Within a matter of months, Brink would make his UFC debut against future champion Andrei Arlovski at UFC 28.

Brink and his ex-wife, the daughter of California State Assemblyman Randy Voepel, got divorced a year after the birth of their child. Meanwhile, Brink became a pornographic actor for Vivid Entertainment and other mainstream platforms using the stage name Dick Delaware. According to IMDb, adult films led him to start habitually using drugs like crystal methamphetamine. In 2009, he appeared on the A&E reality show Intervention, where his family and friends confronted him about his drug use.

Brink said that his ex-spouse called him in 2016 to let him know that their child had changed their name and taken their own life. When he asked his former spouse about the name change, she said it was because of Brink’s adult film past, as well as his appearance on Interventions.

The former MMA fighter also claimed that he did not know his child was still alive until about six months ago, when Aldrich called him to argue on the phone. Despite being estranged from his child, Brink apologized to the victims and their families and asked for their forgiveness.

“I’m sorry for your loss,” he said. “Life is so fragile and it’s valuable. Those people’s lives were valuable. You know, they’re valuable. They’re good people probably. It’s not something you kill somebody over. I’m sorry I let my [child] down.”

Drew Dober will face Bobby Green at the UFC’s December 17th Fight Night card.

The final UFC event of the year is going down at the APEX facility in Las Vegas on December 17th, and will be headlined by a middleweight clash between Sean Strickland and Jared Cannonier. While that’s a quality main event, the promotion has sweetened the deal with an exciting lightweight tilt between action fighters Drew Dober and Bobby Green.

Dober just posted to his Instagram account that he will be locking horns with the UFC veteran. He might have not have used many words on the announcement, but that’s okay. The 34-year-old is a man whose fighting style speaks louder than words.

The Elevation Fight Team talent is riding a two-fight winning streak, made extra special by the fact that his last five wins have all ended with spectacular knockouts. Once known as a volume striker, Dober is now feared as one of the division’s most dangerous knockout artists.

36-year-old Bobby Green has been around the MMA scene for a minute or two (the man competed at Affliction 2 way back in 2009—which just so happens to be the same year that Dober made his professional MMA debut). Despite the experience, consistency is something that has been plaguing Green. Since winning three fights in a row back in 2020, the Pinnacle MMA fighter has gone on a less than stellar run of 2-3. To be fair, he did drop bouts to top-flight competition like Rafael Fiziev and Islam Makhachev, but Dober is a tough out to try and get back into the win column against.

Alongside the top-ranked middleweight main event UFC Vegas 66 is expected to feature a lightweight bout between Arman Tsarukyan & Damir Ismagulov, as well as a flyweight bout between Brandon Royval & Amir Albazi, and a featherweight contest between Alex Caceres and Julian Erosa.
