After a Drug Free Sport International (DFSI) worker accused UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones of threatening her, some fighters have come out in support of Jones.  One of those fighters was former two-division champion Henry Cejudo.

“Is Jon Jones innocent? One hundred percent,” Cejudo said on his YouTube channel.  “It’s almost like these people want to somewhat create a story because they want to portray, keep going with the storyline that Jon Jones is ‘the monster.’

“From what I saw in the video, and getting a chance to know Jon, I could get frustrating at times. Trust me by that, I’ve gotten into it with guys from USADA. People who I’ve known for years, people who have tested me for years. They catch you at a party, they catch you at early in the morning. I mean, it’s normal for you to kind of get frustrated like, ‘Hey man, what’s going on here?’”

Jones admitted that he was angry but denied threatening anyone.  He also posted a video response to the allegations including surveillance footage showing him high-fiving the workers as they were leaving.

The DFSI worker filed a complaint with the The Albuquerque (N.M.) Police Department.  In the complaint, she accused Jones of being intoxicated and threatening her.  Cejudo believes it’s time for Jones to take legal action against the worker.

“If I’m you Jon Jones, you know what I would do? I would get her for defamation of character,” Cejudo said. “I would get her for being a two-faced c*nt, and trying to come at you for something that you really didn’t do.

“I think if anything Jon, you should probably start fighting this and go against them. Make them think twice before they start bringing your name up. Make them think twice before they’re going to make up a story about you, you know, threatening to kill somebody or whatnot.”

A Drug Free Sport International (DFSI) worker filed a police report accusing UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones of threatening her during a recent sample collection at Jones’ home.  But did Jones actually threaten her?

Former title challenger Chael Sonnen defended Jones in the situation with the DFSI worker and questioned whether there’s a better way to go about sample collection.

“Let’s talk some Jon Jones.  Look, you can completely agree on the facts with somebody, and that generally never happens.  Right?  You know that old expression, there’s three sides to every story: my side, their side, and then the truth?  As you go through life, there’s a lot of accuracy to that statement,” Sonnen said on his YouTube channel.

“This is one of those situations where everybody can agree on the facts, but then it comes down to interpretation.  It’s one of those things.  We are not living in the same world that I grew up in.  The world that I grew up in, our gold standard was reality.  Our gold standard to determine what happened was reality.  We’re now in a world where the gold standard is emotion.  It is no longer, what did that person do.  It is now, how did it make you feel,” Sonnen continued.

During the alleged incident, Jones is accused of saying, “Why you f**king people come so early? Do you know what happens to people who come to my house? They end up dead.”  Sonnen suggests that no one was ever actually in danger.

“Jon’s going, wait a minute.  I didn’t do anything.  I’m in my house.  You came to my house.  Whether he was angry or he was attempting to be funny, there’s was nobody ever in danger,” Sonnen said.  “But it can come down to how did it make you feel.”

“This is not right.  This is not right to come down on Jon Jones for.  This has been bound to happen and this has got to be used as a learning experience.  We had Tim Kennedy draw a .45, fully loaded Simi-automatic because he had people come to his property.  Oh, by the way, Tim Kennedy prior to pulling the semi-automatic on the USADA team that had showed up there very early, which means in the dark.  That’s the relevance to early,” Sonnen continued.  “This for sure was on its way to happening.”

“I am suggesting for you that maybe there is another way.  To give a guy a 10 minute heads up.  Just for example, to send a phone call and/or text message.  I don’t think any of us believe a guy can clean his system or find a way to cheat,” Sonnen added.  “I’m not putting this on them, but you’ve got to take it off Jon.  He’s in his house.  He has to comply.  He has to let them in.  He can’t let them leave his sight.”

“I’m telling you now, nobody was in danger.”

Refuting earlier statements that claimed otherwise, Jon Jones has spoken out and insisted he has not been arrested for his alleged acts against an anti-doping officer.

‘Bones’ is considered by many to be the greatest fighter to ever compete in the sport of mixed martial arts but his career doesn’t come without problems. Despite maturing and staying out of trouble, he is still subject to the occasional controversy.

Just days ago, Jon Jones was accused of threatening to kill an anti-doping officer who came to his home to conduct a routine drug test. Now, Jones took to social media to deny those reports, stating that Crystal Martinez (the alleged victim) fabricated a story.

“Hello everyone, I wanted to address some misinformation that has been circulating this morning,” Jones said in his statement. “I woke up to false reports that I had been arrested.”

“I have not been arrested. In fact, I am currently in Texas with my daughters at a volleyball tournament.”

“I must admit, it’s disappointing to have to clarify these things again, but I understand that I may be an easy target given some of my past issues.”

“It’s important to set the record straight and make sure the truth is told.”

Jones continued, giving his side of the story from the anti-doping agency’s visit to his home.

“I was recently visited by testers while I was celebrating a birthday and taking a nap. Upon waking up, I was caught off guard by the unprofessionalism and protocol by one of the testers which caused frustration, leading me to use some profanity [that] I regret.”

“However, I want to emphasize that at no point did I threaten, get in anyone’s face, raise my voice to anyone, or engage in any form of assault.”

“It’s unfortunate that false news has been spread without proper fact-checking. I want to assure you that I will vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations. The truth is, the incident simply did not occur.”

Jon Jones earlier posted a clip from his home security camera which showed him high-fiving the apparent victim. Everything seemed to be on good terms between Jones and the tester, which likely helps his innocent claim even further.

UFC 300 fight week is upon us.  The historic event is headlined by a light heavyweight title bout between champion Alex Pereira (9-2) and former titleholder Jamahal Hill (12-1, 1 NC).

Pereira won the 205-pound championship by stopping former champion Jiri Prochazka in the second round of the UFC 295 main event in November.

“I feel very good.  I’m ready.  This camp was good.  Perfect camp.  Perfect training partners.  The energy is good,” Pereira told SHAK MMA.

Looking ahead to the Hill matchup, Pereira believes Prochazka is a superior striker to his UFC 300 opponent.

“I think Jiri is more accurate and precise on his strikes, the way that he flows, the way that he fights.  Jamhal Hill has a little bit more advantage on his power which makes him dangerous too because nobody wants to take a hit and go down in fights.  But when You talk about skill level, Jiri Prochazka is superior.”

UFC 300 will be Pereira’s first light heavyweight title defense.  He moved up a division after losing to Israel Adesanya in a rematch UFC 287.  He plans on bringing the same excitement that he did at middleweight to the 205-pound weight class.

“I want to bring the same level of excitement for the fans at light heavyweight,” Pereira said.  “I want to make the fans want to by the pay-per-view.  I want to make the fans get excited for my performance.”

Second-ranked lightweight contender Justin Gaethje and former featherweight titleholder Max Holloway meet on the UFC 300 main card with the symbolic BMF belt on the line.

It’s not the first time Holloway has gone up a division.  “Blessed” fought Dustin Poirier at UFC 236 in April 2019 for the interim lightweight championship.  Poirier won via unanimous decision, but it was a late replacement fight and Gaethje expects a different Holloway on Saturday.

“This is very different circumstances.  Max is a big guy.  I think he probably, even at 145, he walks around heavier than I do and he’s just as tall or taller than me.  I think he’s ready for this fight at this weight class.  I’m hoping it makes him a little bit slower, but time will tell,” Geatje told Shak MMA.

When Gaethje and Poirier first fought for the BMF belt at UFC 291 last July, the original BMF Jorge Masvidal wrapped the belt around his waist following the win.  This time, Gaethje would love for UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman to be the one presenting the symbolic belt.

“I would love that especially with what he just went through.  Sounds like a bad motherf**ker to me,” Gaethje said.  “I don’t know him personally, but that’s somebody that you want to be.  That’s somebody that you want to have in your group, someone that’s going to themselves in front of anybody else or anything else to save people.  I believe and I hope that that would be my actions.”

“I’m not worried about who is going to wrap it around me.  I’ve got to be very focused, but I think it would be much better for me than Masvidal putting that thing around me.   I promise you that,” Gaethje continued.

Jon Jones saw a routine drug test turn sour when he was accused of assault and death threats on one of the visiting testers. Despite showing proof of a friendly exchange, Jones was arrested and remains in police custody.

‘Bones’ has been sidelined with an injury and hasn’t competed since his iconic heavyweight title win over Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 last year. All reports are suggesting that the long-awaited Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic clash will take place next.

As confirmed by NBC News earlier today, Jon Jones has been arrested for his involvement in an incident at his home. At this point, it’s unclear if the UFC Hall-of-Famer will be charged with any of the accusations.

According to the apparent victim Crystal Martinez, Jon Jones directed a worrying comment at her as she and her colleague turned up at Jones’ house to conduct a routine drug test.

The 36-year-old was deemed to be intoxicated before allegedly hinting at taking her life and assaulting her. While the accusations are worrisome, footage surfaced of Jones and Martinez sharing a high-five—initiated by the anti-doping officer—as the test came to an end.

Fans have been divided since seeing the video, with some believing Jones’ innocence and others still pointing fingers at the UFC standout.

Jon Jones was scheduled to defend his heavyweight throne against Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 but was forced to withdraw with a torn pec.

The Albuquerque native remains set on competing in the legacy fight against Miocic, but what comes next for him hasn’t been discussed.

If he wins and isn’t ready to retire, Jones could find himself putting his championship on the line against the surging Brit, Tom Aspinall. Aspinall has been angling for a fight against Jones for some time and would love nothing more than to face a man considered by many to be the greatest of all time.

Sean Strickland and Chris Curtis are known for going hard in their shared sparring sessions, but that wasn’t the case during the build-up to Curtis’ short-notice clash against Brendan Allen.

‘The Action Man’ wasn’t interested in taking any fights as he was hoping to spend time with his family following the recent birth of his second child. But when the UFC came calling for him to step in for the injured Marvin Vettori to face Allen, he jumped at the opportunity.

Chris Curtis had just three weeks to prepare for a five-round main event slot against ‘All In’. According to Sean Strickland, his friend and training partner wasn’t in the best shape heading into his fight this past Saturday, which led to Strickland using unconventional ideas to build Curtis’ confidence.

“UFC filmed Curt, I did one round of sparring with him and let him win,” Strickland said. “The camera crew [were] confused because they know me.”

“I said, ‘If I spar him remotely hard, he will lose all confidence going into this fight, he’s so out of shape. No excuses but [Brendan Allen should] take zero pride in this victory.”

Despite admitting to asking Curtis to decline the short-notice affair, Strickland stated that fighters don’t have the freedom to refuse offers brought to them by the UFC.

“He was so out of shape and under-prepared this fight and still won. You don’t say no to the UFC lol, every UFC fighter knows that.”

“They say jump, you say how high. Shoulda finished high school.”

Stopping himself from ranting on any longer, Strickland ended by insisting Chris Curtis and Brendan Allen have an instant rematch. The pair remain 1-1 at present and a third fight could potentially take place in the future.

“Alright, I’m done b*tching. We’re all grown a** men and we all make our own decisions. Just run it back on a full camp, Curt deserves that.”

A Drug Free Sport International (DFSI) worker filed a police report accusing UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones of threatening her during a recent sample collection at Jones’ home.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department incident report, the worker believed Jones to be intoxicated citing that he smelled of alcohol.  She also accused him of taking her phone.

The incident took place on Mach 30 after the DFSI official and a co-worker arrived at Jones Albuquerque home around 4 p.m. to collect a urine sample.  Jones was cooperative at first but that changed when he had difficulty providing the urine sample.  According to the incident report, the worker suggested that Jones provide a blood sample instead.  He allegedly threaten to sue, took her phone and video-recorded the workers.

The worker stated that Jones placed her phone in her pocket and threatened her.  “Why you f*cking people come so early? Do you know what happens to people who come to my house? They end up dead,” Jones allegedly said.

Jones did eventually provide a urine sample during which time the worker retrieved her phone.  She filed an internal report with her supervisor.  The supervisor tried to pursued her into speaking to UFC representatives instead of contacting the police.  She decided to reach out to law enforcement and pursue charges.

Jones denied the incident and released a video on Saturday showing him high-fiving the DFSI workers.

“I must say, this particular tester behaved quite unprofessionally and even breached standard protocol along with HIPAA laws,” Jones wrote. “Throughout my 20 years of being subjected to drug tests, I have never encountered such an incident with a DCO officer before.” Jones wrote.
