Modestas Bukauskas went to his ground game to get back in the win column.
At UFC 304 in Manchester, England, on Saturday, Bukauskas secured a submission of Marcin Prachnio with an arm-triangle choke in the third round. The finish capped off an exciting back-and-forth battle between a pair of light heavyweights known more for their knockout power than their jiu-jitsu.

Bukauskas was a step ahead of Prachnio for much of the fight, though the hard-hitting Polish striker had his moments. It wasn’t until Bukauskas nailed a powerful trip to take Prachnio to the mat that he fully took control of the action.
From there, Bukauskas methodically worked to improve position, until he found an opening for a modified arm-triangle choke. Bukauskas’ squeeze proved to be too much and Prachnio had no choice but to submit. The official time of the stoppage was 3:12 into Round 3.
Bukauskas (16-6) bounces back from a loss to Victor Petrino from this past November and is now 3-1 in his second stint with the UFC. On the other side, Prachnio (17-8) continued his trend .500 fighting, alternating between wins and losses in his past six fights.

UFC 304 results, live streaming pay-per-view (PPV) updates for ESPN’s main card. Checkout what happens as Leon Edwards defends his Welterweight crown against Belal Muhammad and so much more.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Merry Old England, Manchester’s Co-Op live to be specific, with UFC 304 mixed martial arts (MMA) event TONIGHT (Sat., July 27, 2024), streamed LIVE on ESPN+ PPV. The UK fans will have plenty to root for in the main and co-main events (which might make up for the 4 a.m local start time there). They have Leon Edwards in the headliner defending his Welterweight title against Belal Muhammad (no love lost between this two, by the way). Before that, Tom Aspinall(who has been doing some unusual training for this) will defend his interim Heavyweight belt against Curtis Blaydes. These are both rematches of fights with weird endings. Hopefully there are no eye pokes or ACL injuries this night.
There are top Brits among the rest of the main card fights, too. Paddy Pimblett will be searching for the best win of his career when he faces the heavy hitting King Green (that’s Bobby Green to Pimblett). Arnold Allen and Giga Chikadze will be hoping to regain some momentum at Featherweight. And there could be a fire fight on our hands when Christian Leroy Duncan meets Gregory Rodrigues.
The “Prelims” included Nathaniel Wood vs. Daniel Pineda, Molly McCann vs. Bruna Brasiland Muhammad Mokaev vs.Manel Kape. You can check out everything that happened on UFC 304’s “Prelims” here.

Oban Elliott admits the moment got to him in his UFC debut this past February.
Despite leaving with a unanimous decision win over Val Woodburn, the Contender Series alum lost sight of all the hard work he endured to earn his spot on the UFC roster, and instead almost felt like he didn’t deserve to be there. Fighting in the promotion was a dream come true for him, but Elliott realized a few weeks after his debut that he just wasn’t himself in the cage that night.
“I felt like last time I was very fanboyish about the whole thing,” Elliott said on The MMA Hour. “I feel like I owe a bit of an apology because I’m a bit annoyed at myself, by it all. The whole occasion, I felt like I forgot how much I actually belonged there.
“I was enjoying myself after the last one. It was cool. It was like, ‘What a first week of work that was!’ But as it’s unfolded, I realized [that] of course I’m excited by it, but I’m not going to be some little fan. I’m a world-class fighter fighting in the UFC. I deserve to be here. I guess everybody goes through it quietly, but I went through it. Now my head’s in the perfect place.”
While he definitely got caught up in all the lights and hoopla that surrounds a UFC event, Elliot also recognizes he had a lot riding on his debut as well.
After winning a majority decision over Kaik Brito on Contender Series, Elliott wasn’t even sure he’d get offered a UFC contract. That was echoed in a post-fight conversation he shared with UFC CEO Dana White after he got word that he would be joining the UFC roster.
“Contender Series, the way that fight went and Dana [White] was like, ‘Oh, I’m on the fence for this one,’” Elliott recounted. “He told me when he signed me, ‘Be careful what you wish for, kid.’ I always kind of thought about that.
“The main challenge was dealing with the occasion. That was kind of the whole challenge behind it. I went out on my debut, flew across to the Honda Center, I fought on a pay-per-view like that, and just about everything I ever dreamed of happening happened all in the space of a couple of days before I got the result.”
The good news is Elliott feels he got all of the nervous energy out in his UFC debut and he expects a much better showing against Preston Parsons at UFC 304 on Saturday.
“I feel like the pressure’s off me,” Elliott said. “The pressure’s finally off me. Even like I’m talking to you now, like, the pressure’s off me. I’m talking to you as if we’re at the pub having a chat. All of it. The chains are off.”
The timing for UFC 304 worked out perfectly as well as Elliott was dealing with some small injuries that kept him sidelined after his fight in February.
With the UFC landing in England for a pay-per-view card, the 26-year-old Welsh fighter desperately wanted to compete at the event but he wasn’t sure he’d be healed in time.
Thankfully, he was cleared to return, and a few days later, Elliot got the call he wanted.
“It was an honor,” Elliott said. “It was very cool. I won’t go into detail, but after the last fight, I had a couple of bumps and bruises and I didn’t actually get cleared to fight until later on. I was going back and forth. The UFC looks after you when it comes to your health, 100 percent. But obviously it’s all good, I had the clearance and it was like three days later they put me on the card.
“I was thinking I was maybe not going to get on this card because I wasn’t eligible for being matched. But literally the Friday I said I was all good, I needed it off a doctor basically, and by the Wednesday, I had a fight come through. That is an honor.”
Off the back of her stunning submission win over ex-champion, Holly Holm in her promotional debut at UFC 300 earlier this year, Kayla Harrison is reportedly lined up to make her sophomore outing inside the Octagon.
Harrison, a former two-time PFL lightweight tournament winner and two-time Olympic gold medal winner, is reportedly targeted to make her return to action at UFC 307 at the beginning of October, taking on Brazilian contender, Ketlen Vieira in a bantamweight title eliminator in Salt Lake City, Utah.

As for Vieira, the Manaus native currently holds the number two rank in the bantamweight division – most recently featuring one year ago at UFC Fight Night London.
Returning to winning ways, Vieira landed a unanimous decision win over Pannie Kianzad, after previously dropping a split decision loss to incumbent bantamweight champion, Raquel Pennington.
Prior to her loss to TUF veteran, Pennington, the hotly-tipped Vieira turned in back-to-back wins over both former undisputed bantamweight champions, Holly Holm, and Miesha Tate.

UFC 307 takes place on October 5. from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah – with an undisputed featherweight championship fight between Ilia Topuria, and Max Holloway expected to take main event honors.
Furthermore, an undisputed bantamweight title fight between the above-mentioned, Pennington, and former gold holder, Julianna Pena is targeted for the same card.
Who wins at UFC 307: Kayla Harrison or Ketlen Vieira?
Co-op Live in Manchester, England hosts tonight’s UFC 304 pay-per-view event. The fight card is headlined by a welterweight title bout between champion Leon Edwards and second-ranked Belal Muhammad in a rematch. The two first fought in March 2021, but the bout ended in a No Contest after an accidental eye poke rendered Muhammad unable to continue.
In the co-main event interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall puts his title on the line against Curtis Blaydes, also in a rematch. Their first meeting in July 2022 ended in just 15 seconds. Aspinall suffered a knee injury the ended the fight.
