The Mac is putting half a million dollars on Diaz to beat Masvidal in Anaheim, but that didn’t stop him from throwing a few disses Nate’s way.
Conor McGregor is betting a cool half mil that his former opponent Nate Diaz will defeat Jorge Masvidal in tonight’s (Sat. Jul 6th) ‘Last Man Standing’ boxing event (here’s how to watch).
McGregor had some complimentary words for the younger Diaz brother, who beat “The Notorious” via submission in 2016. Conor would decision Nate in a rematch later the same year, putting them at 1-1.
“I’ve decided to put $ 500,000 on Diaz to win tonight’s boxing match,” McGregor wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Range, form, experience, solely hands being used, I can’t see Masvidal causing any problems to Nate in a boxing ring whatsoever.”
But don’t get it twisted: neither man is anywhere near McGregor’s level.
I’ve decided to put $ 500,000 on Diaz to win tonight’s boxing match. Range, form, experience, solely hands being used, I can’t see Masvidal causing any problems to Nate in a boxing ring whatsoever. They are both little play around dipshits in a fight, play around bollox, but I…
— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) July 6, 2024
“They are both little play around dips—s in a fight, play around bollox,” he added. “But I feel Nate does him in EASY here for real. $ 500k gets me back $ 1,625,000 all in.”
This is all part of a sponsorship deal with crypto casino Duelbits, who signed McGregor back in May. Since then he’s placed two public bets: an $ 85,000 one for Spain to win the Euro 2024 soccer tournament, and $ 365,000 on Argentina to win Copa America. Both bets were priced to pay a million each, and so far Spain and Argentina are both doing well.
Mystic Mac > Drake?
We won’t have to wait as long to find out if McGregor’s latest $ 500,000 bet pays off. Diaz vs. Masvidal is just hours away, and we’ll have all the results and highlights ready for you right here at MMA Mania.

Sharing his pick for tonight’s boxing match between former two-time foe, Nate Diaz, and often-mooted rival, Jorge Masvidal, former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor has backed the Stockton native to turn in an “easy” win over the latter – to the tune of $ 500,000 no less.
McGregor, a former two-time foe of Californian veteran, Diaz has tasted both defeat and success against the UFC product, and has forever found himself tied to a potential trilogy rubber match down the line between the duo.

As for Masvidal, the former symbolic BMF champion has made his feelings toward the outspoken Dubliner public record time and time again, claiming just earlier this month how despite his best efforts, McGregor has served a fight with him during their respective tenures inside the Octagon.

Conor McGregor bets $ 500k on Nate Diaz to beat Jorge Masvidal tonight
And laying down some significant money tonight ahead of their boxing showdown in Anaheim, McGregor is backing his former foe to avenge his 2019 doctor’s stoppage against Masvidal this time in the squared circle – with relative ease to boot.

“I’ve decided to put $ 500,000 on Diaz to win tonight’s boxing match,” Conor McGregor posted on his official X account. “Range, form, experience, solely hands being used, I can’t see Masvidal causing any problems to Nate in a boxing ring whatsoever. They are both little play around dipsh*ts in a fight, play around b*llox, but I feel Nate does him in EASY here for real. $ 500k gets me back $ 1,625,00 all in.”
Making his sophomore outing in professional boxing tonight, TUF winner, Diaz is reportedly set to land himself a $ 500,000 payday for his efforts against Masvidal, with the Miami native slated to net a $ 300,000 purse to boot.

Conor McGregor has made his opinion known on tonight’s boxing battle between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal.
As McGregor recovers from his toe injury that led to the postponement of his long-planned MMA return with Michael Chandler — and as we wait for a new date to be announced for such a fight — he has eyes turned toward a main event boxing showdown between two other names that have been UFC stars.
McGregor is very familiar with Diaz as a fighter, and it’s that experience that partly makes him predict that the Stockton native will come out on top in this fight at Anaheim’s Honda Center on Saturday.
In fact, McGregor took to social media to state that he has placed a major, $ 500,000 bet down on Diaz tonight.
Conor McGregor Places $ 500K Bet That Nate Diaz Defeats Jorge Masvidal In Boxing
“Range, form, experience, solely hands being used, I can’t see Masvidal causing any problems to Nate in a boxing ring whatsoever,” McGregor posted. They are both little play around dips**** in a fight, play around bollox, but I feel Nate does him in easy here for real.”
McGregor and Diaz fought in two legendary battles at UFC 196 and UFC 202. Fighting on just over a week’s notice, the American fan favorite submitted his Irish counterpart in upset fashion at UFC 196.
McGregor got his revenge in a closely contested encounter by a majority decision win at UFC 202, which at one point was the most bought pay-per-view in UFC history.
Meanwhile, Masvidal and the former two-division champion never fought in the Octagon, with UFC CEO Dana White at one point noting that McGregor would look small fighting “Gamebred” at 170 pounds.
Diaz and Masvidal faced off at UFC 244 in November 2019, with the Miami native winning via third-round doctor’s stoppage TKO to become the inaugural BMF champion.

Conor McGregor is banking on Nate Diaz outboxing Jorge Masvidal.
“The Notorious” took to Twitter shortly before Saturday’s boxing event at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., headlined by MMA stars Diaz and Masvidal, to boast that he is laying $ 500,000 down on his longtime rival to defeat Masvidal. Given Diaz’s underdog status (currently +210 on DraftKings Sportsbook) , McGregor claims he will cash out with $ 1,625,000 should his bet land.

In his comment, McGregor didn’t have kind words for either fighter, but he particularly ruled out Masvidal’s chances of seeing his hand raised.
“I’ve decided to put $ 500,000 on Diaz to win tonight’s boxing match,” McGregor wrote. “Range, form, experience, solely hands being used, I can’t see Masvidal causing any problems to Nate in a boxing ring whatsoever. They are both little play around dipshits in a fight, play-around bollox, but I feel Nate does him in EASY here for real. $ 500k gets me back $ 1,625,000 all in.”
Masvidal and Diaz previously fought at UFC 244 in November 2019. On that date, Masvidal opened a nasty cut over Diaz’s right eye and went on to win by doctor stoppage at the end of Round 3 to become the inaugural “BMF” champion.
McGregor has his own history with Diaz. The two previously competed in massive pay-per-view bouts at UFC 196 and UFC 202, with Diaz submitting McGregor in their first meeting, and McGregor earning a measure of revenge with a majority decision win in the rematch.
