The Diaz vs. Masvidal 2 Pre-Fight Press Conference took place on Wednesday and got off to a late start. When it finally began, things took an interesting turn when influencer N3ON asked Nate Diaz if he was going to retire after he gets knocked out. The question enraged Diaz and after the press conference, Diaz’ crew chased N3ON in the streets.
Former UFC welterweights, Diaz and Jorge Masvidal, have unfinished business and the two will rematch inside the boxing ring at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. on July 6.
The two fought for the inaugural “BMF” belt at UFC 244 in November 2019. Masvidal won via doctor stoppage due to a cut at the concluding of the third round. The stoppage didn’t sit well with Diaz.
Masvial in 1-0 as a professional boxer but hasn’t had a boxing match since June 2005. Diaz made his professional boxing debut last August, losing to Jake Paul via unanimous decision.
Don’t insult Nate Diaz to his face and not expect consequences or a reaction.
A clout-chasing streamer got exactly what he wanted at the final Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal 2 pre-fight press conference today (Weds., July 3, 2024). When you thought these shenanigans couldn’t get any worse, these internet celebrities always find a way to one-up each other.
After the presser concluded, the streamer was seen on his stream leaving the building to make a quick exit and dial Masvidal. Insisting on his team getting in their departure vehicle, he started to run as presumed Diaz team members chased him down as he shouted he was sorry. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time this specific attention-seeker has found their way around combat sports. The clip can be seen in the embedded player above.
“Second question I have for you today, man, is when you do get knocked out, are you gonna retire?” the streamer asked at the presser.
“Who said that so I know who you are?” Diaz responded. “That little b*tch boy? You f*cking little p*ssy f*ggot. What the f*ck?”
“If you do, I don’t know what’s gonna happen, I’m gonna be watching,” the streamer said. “I’m excited to see both sides.”
“I’m gonna kick you in your f*cking leg, motherf*cker,” Diaz said. “P.S., f*ck you.”
“I have a lot of respect for everyone, man, I just want to see a great fight,” the streamer replied.
“F*ck you,” Diaz stated. “It’s little sh*t kids like this little b*tch talking and motherf*cking changing the times. You’re gonna get your little ass whooped. I got little girls over here that will f*ck you up.”
Masvidal vs. Diaz 2 takes place in a boxing match at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California this weekend (Sat., July 6, 2024).
Mess around too much and you might find out the hard way.
Especially when Nate Diaz is involved.
Teenage streamer N3on learned that lesson on Wednesday after disrespecting Diaz at the final press conference ahead of the UFC veteran’s boxing match against Jorge Masvidal.
“When you do get knocked out, are you going to retire?” N3on asked Diaz at the press event, which can be watched in the video above.
Diaz was immediately incensed and went off on the 19-year-old, threatening to kick his leg in an expletive-filled rant. Shortly after that, footage emerged of N3on being chased out of the venue while repeatedly pleading “Please, I’m sorry!” N3on subsequently wrote on social media that he was nearly jumped by members of Diaz’s team during the incident.
That video and N3on’s response can be seen below.

Diaz vs. Masvidal takes place July 6 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. The bout is a 10-round professional boxing match.
Diaz and Masvidal previously met in an MMA bout in November 2019 at UFC 244 for the inaugural BMF title, which Masvidal won via third-round TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage.
Former UFC heavyweight makes the case for ‘Poatan’ to face Jones next.
UFC 303 was an unmitigated disaster for the promotion from a matchmaking point of view. The postponement of the long-awaited ‘Return of the Mac’ was no doubt a spanner in the works for the MMA leader as they were anticipating the highest gate in UFC history, and the bizarre sequence of events that led to Dan Ige stepping up on a few hours’ notice to fight in the co-main event is certainly something we’ve never seen before.
From an entertainment perspective, the majority of the undercard failed to deliver. Outside of Payton Talbott’s quickfire knockout win over Yanis Ghemmouri, there really wasn’t a whole lot to get fans out of their seats during the prelims, and although the welterweight main card opener between Ian Machado Garry and Michael “Venom” Page proved an interesting tactical battle, it wasn’t a fight that impressed the fanbase.
As has been the case time and time again, however, Alex Pereira stepped up to the plate to save the day. His knockout win over Jiri Prochazka in the main event stole all the headlines, just two months after his previous showstopping exploits against Jamahal Hill at UFC 300.
The main talking point coming out of last Saturday seems to be concerning who “Poatan” will fight next. Rumours continue to circulate about a potential move up to test the waters in the heavyweight division against either interim champion Tom Aspinall or two-weight world champion Jon Jones. There is also the possibility he will defend the 205lb belt against the consensus challenger Magomed Anakalaev.
Brendan Schaub Advocates For ‘Poatan’ vs. ‘Bones’ Next
Speaking on his Extra Thiccc podcast this week, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub made the case for Pereira to fight Jones next.
“If you’re the UFC, if you’re gonna risk Alex Pereira, wouldn’t you rather him…wouldn’t you rather him lose to the greatest of all time Jon Jones at heavyweight, and then go, ‘Yeah it’s Jon Jones, he’s going back to light heavyweight’, or you know let’s say it’s competitive, you go, ‘Yeah, he’s gonna fight Tom Aspinall’.”
“At least you still have options” Schaub continued “because if you give him to Ankalaev and he loses? There’s no heavyweight…we don’t wanna see you at heavyweight. He’s gonna be stuck at light heavyweight. If you give him Aspinall and he loses that…well the mega-fight with Jon’s gone.
Schaub then urged the UFC matchmakers to make the right decision, keep ‘Poatan’ away from the grappling-heavy Ankalaev – and book him against Jon Jones for the undisputed heavyweight strap after “Bones” is done defending his title against Stipe Miocic [if he beats him, of course].
“If you’re in the boardroom and you’re Mick Maynard this morning and you’re waking up like, ‘Alright he’s an underdog in all three scenarios…what’s gonna be the biggest fight possible, which is not gonna shoot his balloon down of stardom the most?
“You do Jon Jones – Alex Pereira in 2025 for the undisputed heavyweight title”.

Brian Ortega broke his silence on Wednesday after enduring a disastrous UFC 303 fight week that ended with him dropping out of his fight against Diego Lopes just hours before he was scheduled to compete.
The two-time featherweight title challenger released a statement addressing the ordeal that began after he accepted the fight against Lopes just two weeks prior to UFC 303 following the withdrawal of original headliner Conor McGregor. Ortega knew he had to drop quite a bit of weight to get down to the 146-pound limit for a non-title fight, but he seemed confident in getting the job done.
That all changed after he arrived in Las Vegas for fight week activities.
“Come fight week, I felt off and I didn’t feel right,” Ortega said on Instagram. “I thought it was just the residual effects from the [weight] cut. I was 178 pounds when I accepted this fight on 15 days’ notice. Thursday night after seven straight hours, I could not break 151 pounds. Later, I would find out that I was battling a fever and I could not break into the final five pounds as my body started to shut down.
“Rather than risking huge health consequences, and possibly calling the fight off, thankfully we were able to move the weight to 155. At weigh-ins, I still felt off but I was sure it would go away after I rehydrated and ate.”

Despite an extra 10-pound allowance, Ortega still didn’t bounce back from the weight cut. He really started feeling sick overnight leading into Saturday’s scheduled fight.
“Later on that night, I still felt off and was suffering from cold sweats and no sleep,” Ortega wrote. “Finally, I feel asleep at 6 a.m. Saturday morning and woke up at 1 p.m. hoping to feel better. I could not keep any food or water down nor could I stand up to use the restroom.”
Finally realizing that he was dealing with an illness on top of the struggles he had with his weight cut, Ortega called to inform his manager and UFC that he just couldn’t fight.
“I struggled with my own ego, got on a call with Tiki [Ghosn] and Hunter [Campbell], and I made the decision to call off the fight,” Ortega said. “I dared to do something crazy for the love of fighting but I got sick and my body gave out on me. I want to give the fans and my opponents my best performance every time I step into the cage.”
Ortega also addressed Lopes directly after Lopes initially cut down to featherweight, then gained a few pounds to compete at lightweight, then ultimately got an entirely different opponent in Dan Ige just hours before he was scheduled to compete.
“Diego Lopes, I can only imagine what went off on your side, you have nothing but my respect and I’ll talk to Hunter and and Tiki and make this right by you,” Ortega said. “To the UFC, Dana [White], Hunter and the fans, thank you for having my back.”
Lopes has stated his interest in running it back with Ortega so long as the fight happens at featherweight, but it remains to be seen if UFC still wants to book that matchup. As for Ortega, he previously said he planned to eventually move to lightweight, but didn’t directly address his future in the statement provided on Wednesday.
