Mike Tyson is A-OK.
The former heavyweight boxing champion had a brief medical scare while flying across the country earlier this week, thanks to a pesky ulcer that went into business for itself. The 57 year-old pugilist was treated upon landing and appears to be back in tip-top shape.
Or so the story goes.
“Now feeling 100 percent,” Tyson wrote on Twitter. “Even though I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul.”
Tyson is scheduled to face 27 year-old celebrity boxer Jake Paul on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which streams live on Netflix. There were concerns about the erosion of “Iron” long before his ulcer issues but Tyson insists he can solve “The Problem Child.”
We’ll find out in less than two months. If not, embattled super lightweight boxer Ryan Garcia is prepared to step in.
“Jakey boo,” Garcia wrote on social media. “If you down to fight, if Mike can’t do it, let me know, I will fill in.”
Just as soon as he’s done swallowing all the steroids.

Ryan Garcia has apologized to Logan Paul.
Garcia made some not-so-subtle claims about Paul’s beverage company PRIME, which led to the WWE star teasing a defamation lawsuit on Twitter.
I’ve had to spend the last couple months dismantling ridiculous claims about @PrimeHydrate, and it’s become obvious…
PRIME is under attack. Why?1.) We’re a threat. PRIME is the most disruptive beverage in history and our competitors feel the pressure. It’s likely that we’ve… pic.twitter.com/3LxENMr2O1

In a recent interview, with Ana Paula Saenz, Garcia took a moment to apologize to Paul for the harsh words, and even took a swig of PRIME — while putting it over.

“I just want to say I’m sorry,” Garcia said. “I just feel bad for the fight we’re going through because I’ve known the family for years, bro. This sh*t’s breaking my heart. I don’t want to fight with you no more, bro. I don’t got a problem with PRIME, I had a problem with you.
“I’ll drink this sh*t right now. That’s just bomb as f*ck. I love you, bro. I’m done with this fighting sh*t.”
According to documents, the lawsuit is still active and has not been dropped as of now.
Garcia has been embedded in controversy for a couple of months since upsetting Devin Haney in April. “King” tested positive for banned substances following the bout, and after his b-sample was tested, it also reportedly came back positive.
Garcia, and his legal team — who stated that Garcia was “a victim of supplement contamination” — continue to deny any wrongdoing. As of now, no word on whether or not Garcia will be punished for the positive tests, or if Paul will continue the legal battle with the star boxer.

On Tuesday, May 21, parties in the UFC antitrust lawsuits filed a Motion for Preliminary Approval of the Settlement. The documents revealed the amount of money the plaintiffs’ attorneys and the fighters in the suit are likely to receive after the promotion settled with a total payout of $ 335 million.
According to a report from MMA Payout, attorneys representing the fighters are requesting no more than 1/3 of the UFC Settlement Fund plus interest, equating to roughly $ 10.05 million, and reimbursement of litigation expenses “of no more than $ 11 million” for an amount totaling just a hair over $ 21 million.

The remaining $ 314 million will be distributed between 1,950 fighters across the two classes — the [Cung] Le Class and the [Kajon] Johnson Class. However, it should be noted that some fighters in the suit are represented in both classes. The Le Class, which consists of 1,290 members will receive 75% of the Settlement Fund while the remaining 25% will go to the Johnson Class, comprised of another 1,140 members.
The plan of allocation would provide Le Class members an award from the Settlement equaling 25% [or more] of their total earnings from bouts from the Le Class period. The Le Class will be divided based on the number of fights in the UFC and their compensation at the time. The minimum amount of recovery is $ 8,000.

Certain Fighters under the Johnson Clash to receive 10% of their lifetime UFC earnings in settlement
Per the report, “Certain claimants from the Johnson Settlement Class will receive as much as 10% of their lifetime bout earnings.”
Payouts will also depend on whether or not the fighter had an arbitration agreement in its contract for the Johnson Class as the UFC changed its contract to include an arbitration provision during the Johnson time period. Those with arbitration provisions will receive $ 5,000.

Though he was not party to the lawsuit, former UFC fighter Nate Quarry will receive a $ 250,000 settlement for his claims which were outside the timeframe set by the parties in the lawsuit and was therefore left out.
Settlements will be sent out in separate payouts starting November 1, 2024, and again on April 1, 2025.

Ozempic has been taking the world by storm of late but current UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley isn’t sold on the idea of it.
While primarily used as a medicine for adults who suffer with type 2 diabetes, Ozempic does have other uses. The medicine is being consumed by a larger group of people worldwide lately for its weight loss benefits.
Countless celebrities jumped in on the craze and are now using Ozempic to lose weight. Despite its recent rise in popularity, Sean O’Malley has spoken out against the medication.
“I mean, I don’t know enough about it,” O’Malley said. “I’ve witnessed people that I know on it and they definitely lose a lot of weight.”
“I don’t think you should get on it, I really don’t. I just don’t know if there’s enough science behind it to get on that.”
“I think it f***s you up in more ways than just turning off the f***ing sensors in your brain… Let’s just [do some] good old fashioned hard work… Yeah, good old fashioned hard work is the answer to that, buddy.”
Cutting weight is an essential part of combat sports. While it’s in place to sort fighters into specific weight divisions and make competition more balanced, it has received backlash from fans over the years.
A large number of supporters tend to dislike the often severe punishment that it puts on athletes bodies.
Check out what Sean O’Malley had to say about Ozempic and much more in the video below.

When is Sean O’Malley fighting next?
Sean O’Malley has become one of the biggest stars in the sport since his rise from the Contender Series.
The flashy knockout artist has captured the eye of the casual mixed martial arts fan and is greatly benefitting from it.
Last time out, O’Malley’s elite kickboxing was on display once again as he beat Marlon Vera in dominant fashion–and defending his title for the first time.
‘Suga’ is ready to put his bantamweight gold on the line once again. Though nothing has been made official, all signs are pointing toward Merab Dvalishvili being given the next shot at O’Malley. The fight is rumored to be taking place at the Las Vegas Sphere toward the end of the year.

The trio of Jon Anik, Joe Rogan, and Daniel Cormier will reunite for Saturday’s UFC 302.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Rogan will return to the broadcast booth with Anik and Cormier for UFC 302, which takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
Rogan was not on the broadcast for UFC 301 earlier this month as he doesn’t make the trek for international pay-per-view broadcasts.
Megan Olivi will join the team as the roving reporter for the promotion’s return to The Garden State, while Din Thomas will provide coaching analysis during the fight card.
The analyst desk will feature Chael Sonnen, Laura Sanko, and Anthony Smith.
UFC 302 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier. In the co-main event, Sean Strickland will face Paulo Costa in a five-round middleweight tilt.

Dustin Poirier’s fighting future is a big question heading into his lightweight title fight at UFC 302, but UFC lead commentator Jon Anik believes “The Diamond” will have, at least, one more walk left in him regardless of what happens in the bout.
Poirier challenges Islam Makhachev for the 155-pound championship in the main event of the June 1 pay-per-view card in Newark, N.J. Anik, who will be on the call alongside Daniel Cormier and Joe Rogan, was asked if he believes that — win or lose — Poirier could be walking to the octagon to James Brown’s The Boss for the final time.
“I don’t think so,” Anik told MMA Fighting. “I don’t know, I mean, he certainly has financial freedom — even beyond, I think, what he thought he could acquire. Hot sauce, and a couple of late career [Conor] McGregor fights, obviously, so he’s not prizefighting at this point in time. The legacy is secured.
“But I also feel like… when Ronda Rousey lost to Holly Holm, I said, ‘You’re walking into your new life when you get home.’ And for a retiring athlete, even if you don’t go out on a particularly good note or bad note, you’re walking into your new life, and Matt Brown is dealing with that very reality right now. But I just don’t know that Dustin wants to get to that expiration date just yet. I think he just enjoys making that walk — unlike a Georges St-Pierre — too much.
“So I don’t think this is going to be the final walk. And I wouldn’t be surprised to see some celebration-type tour, not unlike — and I don’t even want to invoke the name — Derek Jeter, because I prefer the athletes that retire spontaneously, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it built up for Dustin Poirier’s final fight, whenever that may be.”
Poirier earned his opportunity to fight for the title when he knocked out Benoit Saint Denis in the second round at UFC 299 in March. The former interim lightweight champion is less than a year removed from a head kick knockout loss to Justin Gaethje for the “BMF” title at UFC 291 this past July, but momentum and availability has put him in position to author one of the most remarkable stories in UFC history — especially considering that he’s facing Makhachev, the No. 1 Pound-for-Pound fighter in the world.
“Michael Bisping would’ve been a UFC Hall of Famer whether or not he knocked out Luke Rockhold on that fateful night [at UFC 199], and the same thing applies to Dustin Poirier,” Anik explained. “Going into the Benoit Saint Denis fight, I said that if there is any legacy on paper right now in the UFC that really doesn’t need an undisputed championship, it’s Dustin Poirier’s legacy. So, yeah, he’s fighting for that ultimate capstone, and I guess, maybe, he’s fighting for all-time-great status, if not Mount Rushmore status.
“But it’s just been an incredible run from the Fightville documentary, from all of his avid fans that he’s rewarded over the years. … I just like the timing of the fight for Poirier, I like the quick turn, I like the confidence accrued from the Benoit Saint Denis fight, I like the fact that the fight is in the time zone in which he resides. … I can see why people see Dustin Poirier as a live underdog and like him in this particular spot.
“But my goodness, man. Even just going back and watching film on Islam Makhachev, I’m just like, ‘Man, look at this guy. Just look at this guy — in every realm of mixed martial arts.’ And then just the physical aesthetic at the beginning of the fight, he’s an absolute monster … and I think it’s going to take Dustin’s best, and he’s certainly capable of that.”
