Molly McCann will fight in her home country once again.
The UFC announced on Tuesday that McCann will face Bruna Brasil in a strawweight contest at UFC 304, which takes place July 27 at the new Co-Op Live in Manchester, England. Ag. Fight first reported the matchup.
After getting stopped in the first round in consecutive fights by Erin Blanchfield and Julija Stoliarenko, McCann made the move down from flyweight to the 115-pound division. “Meatball” made her first 2024 appearance at February’s UFC Vegas 85 event where she delivered, quite possibly, the best performance of her career when she submitted Diana Belbita via armbar with just one second left in the opening round.
Brasil, a Contender Series veteran, makes her fourth walk to the octagon, and looks to bounce back from a decision loss against Loma Lookboonmee at UFC Vegas 86 in February. “The Special One” is 1-2 in the promotion, with her lone win coming via unanimous decision against Shauna Bannon at UFC London this past July.
Additionally, the UFC announced a featherweight tilt between the U.K.’s Nathaniel Wood and perennial finisher Daniel Pineda.
UFC 304 will feature a welterweight championship bout between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad — who meet for the second time — in the main event, while Tom Aspinall will defend his interim heavyweight championship against Curtis Blaydes in the co-main event.

Conor McGregor will be open to welcoming back Khabib Nurmagomedov to the Octagon, as it’s reported the Dagestani native has unpaid taxes.
According to reports, Nurmagomedov has allegedly been under investigation for underpaying his business taxes at an estimated $ 300 million rubles ($ 3.3 million United States dollars). Following the reports of the news, McGregor spoke about it and says he hopes that leads to Nurmagomedov returning as he wants that fight back.

“That’s typical rat behavior,” Conor McGregor said on a Duelbits live stream. “Scurrying rat. So, he has bills to pay. Two main events or something he has in the UFC and he owes his b*llocks to the Russian government. So, he’s gonna pay his f—kin’ money that he owes instead of siphoning it out through to other countries. I’m ecstatic and delighted that that’s coming on top of him.

“We all will welcome him back into the fight game where he’s ran from,” McGregor continued. “It’s a rat trap. The rat trap has been set. We’re excited about that and to see where it goes. We noticed a little rat scurrying on back. We see him back around. The fat rat we call him.”
McGregor and Nurmagomedov fought back at UFC 229 in 2018 and it was ‘The Eagle’ who won by fourth-round submission to defend his lightweight title. Nuragomedov fought two more times and then retired following his submission win over Justin Gaethje.

Conor McGregor set for highly-anticipated return
Conor McGregor will be ending his three-year layoff on June 29 when he headlines UFC 303 against Michael Chandler.
McGregor has not competed since July of 2021 when he broke his leg in the trilogy match against Dustin Poirier. Before that, he was knocked out by Poirier after a 40-second TKO win over Donald Cerrone in his return to MMA after his loss to Nurmagomedov.

McGregor is the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion and holds notable wins over Eddie Alvarez, Jose Aldo, Chad Mendes, Dustin Poirier, Max Holloway, and Nate Diaz among others.

Stamp Fairtex won’t get to defend her atomweight title in June and she’s also been forced out of a champion vs. champion fight that was set to take place when ONE Championship returns to the United States in September.
The 26-year-old multi-sport champion from Thailand suffered a serious knee injury in one of her final sparring sessions that required her to undergo surgery. As a result, Stamp won’t face Denice Zamboanga on June 7 and she’ll also be forced out of her scheduled fight against ONE strawweight champion Xiong Jingnan on Sept. 6 in Denver.
ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong revealed the news when speaking to MMA Fighting on Monday.
“It’s a sad thing,” Sityodtong said. “One of her final sparring sessions prepping for the big event in a couple of weeks, she blew out her knee. 80 percent of her meniscus was torn off her knee and it was on a nasty takedown where her leg got caught. Her knee buckled. She just went for surgery, very successful surgery [on Sunday].”
There’s no exact timeline for Stamp to return to action and Sityodtong hasn’t had the chance to speak to her directly since the underwent surgery to repair the damage done.
It’s possible that she could make a comeback sooner than expected but there’s no chance that Stamp fights in June or September due to the knee injury.
“I’ve talked to the Fairtex team, looks like it’s going to be six months but I really don’t know,” Sityodtong said. “I haven’t talked to the doctor. Let’s see what happens. It’s kind of sad but at the same time Atlanta is six months away so who knows. Stamp is a super athlete. You never know.”
Losing Stamp is definitely a blow to ONE’s future plans as the former kickboxing and Muay Thai world champion has quickly become one of the promotion’s fastest rising stars.
She was already a major draw for ONE during her striking career but since crossing over to MMA and claiming the atomweight title, the attention on Stamp has only continued to grow.
Her growing popularity played a part in Stamp getting the opportunity to become a two-division champion as well as headlining ONE’s return to the U.S. in September. Sadly, those plans are now cancelled with ONE looking to replace Stamp at the top of the card prior to the event in Denver.
“These things happen,” Sityodtong said. “The most important thing right now is for Stamp to rest and recover and rehab her knee so she’s back and hopefully she’s back in several months even potentially for our Atlanta show and there’s more shows in the states for next year. So I’m pretty relaxed about that from a timing perspective and plus we have such a stacked card.
“We haven’t even announced our card but we have such a stacked card for Denver, 100 percent the event is going to sell out. With zero marketing, we’re more than half sold out, which is mind bogging to me. It’s a 20,000 seat arena where world champion Denver Nuggets play. It’s a full blown NBA stadium. We’ve done zero marketing, All we’ve done is announce that we’re coming and put a ticket link up and a couple of fights and it’s more than half sold out already. So I think four months to go, we’ll probably sell out with several weeks to go just like we did for our last Denver event. We’re very excited.”

Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
UFC Bantamweight kingpin Sean O’Malley may triple his fight purse income from social media income, but perhaps that’s actually more dangerous than stepping into the cage?
In a new episode of his TimboSugarShow podcast, O’Malley talked about a recent incident during a Twitch streaming center. According to “Suga,” he was the victim of a “Swatting” incident, in which a false call to the police is made against an unsuspecting person. Swatting is both illegal and dangerous, as armed officers are sent into what they believe to be dangerous situations.
“Went home, I’m like, ‘You know what? I’m gonna stream today,’” O’Malley explained (via LowKickMMA). “Streaming, about an hour and a half in I see a f—king cop fly down my road. I feel like instantly I kinda knew because I’ve heard about Adin [Ross] and the big streamers getting swatted. People find out where they’re at and they call the cops, say something happened that obviously didn’t happen and then they’re f—king getting swatted.”
“So, I peek out my head out the window to see if maybe it’s something else. But then they’re on the intercom and I see a bunch of cops and they’re like, ‘Walk out with your hands up.’ So I f—king walk out, hands up. I was like, ‘I’m just gonna listen. I could get shot.’” I was like, ‘Okay if I just listen to them, I’ll be alright.’ But you never know, someone sneezes, pulls the trigger. I got f—king shotguns pointed at me. ARs from like four different cops pointed at me. I was like I’m just gonna listen and walk back.”
After O’Malley surrendered himself to the police, he was cuffed and put in the back of a cop car. Fortunately, another set of officers arrived and recognized O’Malley, letting him go. O’Malley also revealed that whoever made the call said there was an active shooter in the building, as well as dead bodies.
“No. They didn’t have me get on the ground,” O’Malley continued. “I just turned around, walked backward with my hands up, put me in handcuffs. Put me in the cop car. I just used it as a meditation because moments like those bring you into the present moment so much. I was sitting in the back of that cop car in handcuffs and I was like, ‘Dude, that’s crazy. I had freedom five minutes ago. Now I have none. Zero.’
“They said I killed my parents or something like that, and they thought there was an active shooter inside … Someone called the cops and said there’s an active shooter, and two dead people in the house or something.”
In the cage, O’Malley most recently defeated Marlon Vera via dominant five-round decision, avenging the only loss of his professional career. Next up for “Suga” should be a showdown opposite streaking contender Merab Dvalishvili, potentially at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dana White loves to talk Power Slap numbers but I have yet to meet a living, breathing Power Slap fan in my real life.

Another claim that PFL cannot afford to actually book its fighters …
Last guy I beat is fighting for the belt now. Solid win Costello great job. I’m on the sidelines for a year now, what heard was my purse was too “high” and PFL didn’t want to pay and honor my last fight on my contract. so yeaaa @BellatorMMA @PFLMMA

This thread full of rare Sumo throws is absolutely worth a click through:
Tsutaezori (under arm forward body drop): 0.6% of Ura’s wins (0.01% overall rate)
It’s sort of like doing a fireman’s carry where you duck underneath your opponent’s underhook and load their body onto your shoulders (different though because your knees can’t touch).

Boxing politics are so silly.
Oleksandr Usyk will be stripped of/vacate the IBF heavyweight world title at some point in the next two weeks and it is expected to be on the line for Filip Hrgovic vs Daniel Dubois on June 1st, with Anthony Joshua likely to challenge the winner. Hrgovic is overdue IBF mandatory.

When Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen box on June 15 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, it will be an exhibition rather than a professional match.
National Boxing Council Brazil president Geyza Caryny informed MMA Fighting of the news Monday.
Caryny, the head of the entity that will oversee the Silva vs. Sonnen main event of Spaten Fight Night, said a winner will be declared, in case of a knockout or if it goes the distance, however it won’t be included on either fighters’ official records.
The match will be contested at a catchweight of 98kg (216 pounds) and both athletes will wear 14-ounce gloves, Caryny confirmed.
Silva is 3-2 as a professional boxer, while Sonnen has never competed in the sport previously.
The two former rivals share 94 combined MMA bouts, with Silva finishing 20 of his opponents by knockout, and Sonnen holding seven knockouts to his credit.
Silva and Sonnen fought twice under the UFC banner, with “The Spider” defending his middleweight belt twice via stoppage.
Silva vs. Sonnen 1 is set to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in June.
