Jake Paul v Mike Perry - Weigh-in

Mike Perry held a special announcement press conference on Friday to reveal details and the unique ruleset behind his new fight promotion, Dirty Boxing Championship (DBC).

Perry, who meets Jake Paul inside of the boxing ring later tonight (Sat., July 20, 2024) live on DAZN PPV from inside Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., hosted his own presser on Friday to speak with media members about his new business venture. “Platinum” was joined on stage by a few additional partners before he dove into details about DBC.

While Perry has competed in mixed martial arts (MMA), boxing, and bareknuckle boxing throughout his professional combat career, DBC will incorporate aspects from a variety of sports. Luckily, Perry was more than willing to physically demonstrate the action that fight fans should expect to see from his new organization.

Check out Perry’s detailed-explanation below along with a breakdown of the official ruleset (per DBC’s website):

  • 5 oz. gloves
  • Elbows are allowed
  • Open palm strikes are allowed
  • Ground-and-pound on a downed opponent is allowed
  • No grappling or submissions are allowed
  • 18’ foot ring

Perry, who has experienced a rise in fame since joining Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) back in 2022, has been working on DBC for over a year. The new promotion is hoping to host its first event in September, but they have yet to lock down a broadcast deal.

Midnight Mania! TikToker Escapes Perry Beatdown

by Site Admin ~ July 20th, 2024

Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Mike Perry is not a person you want to mess with, but some TikTok guy still tried to provoke a fight with “Platinum” on Friday night.

The former UFC fighter is gearing up for a showdown with Jake Paul inside the boxing ring this weekend and was in Tampa, Fla., on Friday for the ceremonial weigh ins. While backstage, Perry was harassed by some annoying influencer who kept saying that Paul was going to get the win.

Perry, who is usually ready to brawl at the drop of a dime, shoved the guy away from him and surprisingly stopped there. The TikToker kept running his mouth as security rushed in and started to break it up. During the melee the guy seemed to spray a can of W in Perry’s direction. He’s lucky to be alive. Check it out below:

BOXING: APR 04 BKFC 41 Press Conference
Photo by Amy Kaplan/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images

Mike Perry will square off with Jake Paul inside the boxing ring tomorrow evening (Sat., July 20, 2024) live on DAZN PPV from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., but “Platinum” will first host a special announcement press conference Friday night from inside MP Studios.

It’s unknown at this time what Perry is going to discuss, but the former UFC contender and current bareknuckle boxing star has something important to share. There are rumors swirling that “Platinum” could be launching his own fight promotion, but all that media members were told is that they’d be served “subs & cold brews.”

The special announcement press conference is expected to begin at 8:30 p.m. ET, which can be seen in the above video player.

Perry, who is 5-0 as a member of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) since parting ways with UFC back in 2021, has the chance to become the first fighter to finish Paul. It will be a tall task considering Perry is the smaller and more limited striker, but his conditioning and chin should allow him to make Paul sweat every step of the way.

Sterling Vs Evloev Booked For UFC 307

by Site Admin ~ July 19th, 2024

UFC 288: Sterling v Cejudo
Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images

It’s time to separate pretender from contender.

Former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling will look to blast his way into featherweight title contention when he collides with No. 5-ranked Movsar Evloev as part of the upcoming UFC 307 pay-per-view (PPV) event, expected to take place on Sat., Oct. 5, 2024 from inside Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

That’s according to MMA Junkie.

Sterling (24-4) dropped the 135-pound title to Sean O’Malley at UFC 292 back in summer 2023, but was already contemplating a trip north before coughing up his bantamweight crown. “Funk Master” made his featherweight debut with a unanimous decision win over Boston bruiser Calvin Kattar at UFC 300 last April.

So much for that Sphere showdown.

As for Evloev (18-0), he kept his perfect record intact by capturing a unanimous decision victory over Arnold Allen at UFC 297 in Toronto. The only knock against the Russian wrestler is that all eight of his wins under the UFC banner have come by way of decision, though he did manage to bag “Fight of the Night” at UFC 288 in Newark.

Sterling vs. Evloev marks the first bout revealed for UFC 307.

LIVE! Paul Vs Perry Early Weigh Ins!

by Site Admin ~ July 19th, 2024

Jake Paul v Tyron Woodley - Weigh In

Social media star Jake Paul and former UFC welterweight Mike Perry will hit the scale for the early (and official) weigh ins today, beginning LIVE at 10 a.m. ET in the embedded video above. “El Gallo” and “Platinum” are scheduled to headline the “Fear No Man” boxing card on Sat. night (July 20, 2024), streaming live on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV).from inside Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla. (order it here).

Both fighters will return for the “Fear No Man” ceremonial weigh ins, complete with staredowns, at 6 p.m. ET right here.

This weekend’s “Fear No Man” lineup will also feature the return of unified featherweight champion Amanda Serrano, who battles local product Stevie Morgan in super lightweight action. Elsewhere on the card, former UFC middleweight Uriah Hall makes his debut in the “sweet science” opposite veteran pugilist Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., not long after Shadasia Green and Natasha Spence hook ‘em up at light heavyweight.

Paul was originally booked to throw down against former WBC Heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson; however, the aging “Iron” man was felled by an untimely ulcer flareup and their Netflix-streamed showdown was later rebooked for Fri., Nov. 15, 2024, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. An upset victory by Perry is likely to bring an end to those plans, raising the stakes for Paul and Co. this weekend in “The Sunshine State.”

Paul vs. Perry will be contested across eight, three-minute rounds.

2024 Republican National Convention: Day 4

Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Dana White delivered a memorable and very fiery speech Thursday night at the Republican National Convention (full replay HERE) as the UFC CEO introduced former President Donald Trump like he was about to make the walk to the Octagon.

White, who has done these political appearances before to back his buddy Donald, had to be feeling extra pressure to deliver a well-thought speech considering Trump just survived an assassination attempt last weekend. The former President has still been making his campaign rounds and followed through on Thursday’s stop in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

That’s where White came on stage for about five minutes and ended with a loud UFC-like intro for Trump. Check it out below:

“I know America needs a strong leader, and the world needs a strong America,” said White as he closed out his speech. “I know Donald J. Trump is the best choice for President of the United States.

“My fellow Americans, it is my honor to introduce the 45th and soon to be 47th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump.”

UFC 294: Usman v Chimaev
Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images

Kamaru Usman has some names in mind for his return to action.

The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight champion has taken his time, resting and recovering throughout 2024. When he eventually gets back in the Octagon, he’ll look to snap a three-fight losing skid that began when he last held the title in his rematch against Leon Edwards at UFC 278 in August 2022.

Usman, 37, appears to be getting closer to his comeback. When he does so, he believes fights with any of Shavkat Rakhmonov, Ian Machado Garry, Jack Della Maddalena, or Belal Muhammad are the right moves.

“There’s a huge chance it comes down to one of these guys,” Usman said on Pound 4 Pound. “These are the streaky guys right now. As I like to think of it, these are the new hot chicks in the division right now, and of course, we love hot chicks. These are the hot prospects in the division right now.

“Staying at Welterweight, I would have to choose out of one of these guys,” he continued. “It is what it is. I have no problem with either one. I think they’re all great fighters. Tough, young, strong fighters, making their way up. It’s up to me to go show them they’re not on my level yet, but I’ve been doing this. That I have been, always will be the boogeyman of that Welterweight division.”

Luckily for Usman, the first three names he has in mind are all without current match ups booked. However, Muhammad will be the next contender to challenge the champion, Edwards, when they rematch in UFC 304’s main event next weekend (Sat., July 27, 2024). Due to Usman’s recent consecutive losses to Edwards at Welterweight, he’ll likely need at least one win before being in title consideration.

Paul Vs Perry FIERY Face Off From Tampa

by Site Admin ~ July 18th, 2024

YouTube boxer Jake Paul and bareknuckle bruiser Mike Perry came face-to-face earlier today at the conclusion of the “Fear No Man” press conference (watch the replay here). “El Gallo” battles “Platinum” on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) this Sat. night (July 20, 2024) from inside Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

To live stream this weekend’s Paul vs. Perry card click HERE.

“I see a lot of people saying, ‘Mike’s the toughest guy on the planet; this is Jake’s biggest challenge yet’. Yo, you’re fools,” Logan Paul, Jake’s brother, told his Instagram followers. “You are fools if you think Mike Perry stands a chance against Jake Paul.”

Paul is 9-1 as a pro boxer with six knockouts, whereas Perry was stopped in his one and only boxing match back in 2015. A lot has changed since then, with “Platinum” establishing himself as one of the most feared fighters in the world of bareknuckle boxing. How that success transitions to the “sweet science” remains to be seen.

Here’s the co-main event face off between Amanda Serrano and Stevie Morgan:

Paul vs. Perry “Fear No Man” PPV costs $ 64.99 (more on that here).

“The face-to-face was hilarious, very entertaining to say the least,” Paul said on MVP Uncut. “It’s just like every time I sit face-to-face with my opponents, they don’t know what’s coming, they’re out of their comfort zone. They think everything is sweet, and then they get into the ring, get hit with the first jab, and then, it’s over for them shortly. Everything we’ve done, all the prank calls, all that s**t, I can tell it’s bothering him.”

Paul vs. Perry will be contested across eight, three-minute rounds.

Mac Teases Bareknuckle Crossover At BKFC Presser

by Site Admin ~ July 18th, 2024

Conor McGregor is part owner of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC).

But the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) two-division titleholder could soon be a player, as well, if he manages to complete the final two fights on his current contract. The first step in that process is healing the broken pinky toe that sabotaged his UFC 303 comeback against Michael Chandler.

“This is a sport on the rise,” McGregor said. “With my backing, I’m confident I can strap it to a rocket ship and send it right to the moon. Come and try your trade here at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Make a new name for yourself. Look at what has happened to Michael Perry, one of our big stars here. The ‘King of Violence’ he titles himself. He’s had such a rise in the sport now he’s up against a little dweeb this weekend, we’re all rooting for him.”

Perry, 32, was released from UFC after losing four of five but has since racked up five straight wins for BKFC with three knockouts. “Platinum” will return to the “sweet science” to battle celebrity pugilist Jake Paul this weekend in Tampa (stream it here).

“This is the real deal,” McGregor continued. “No one in combat sports can speak one bad [word] about a bareknuckle fighting champion and that for me is money in the bank. For me, I have a bit business left with Ultimate Fighting Championship, two fights left on my contract, but for sure we got three lightweights up here on the dais and you know, I have my eye on all of [them]. I’m not up here just as an owner. Player-manager I’ll title myself on this one.”

McGregor is expected to make his Octagon return by the end of the year.
