by Site Admin ~ October 4th, 2023

We’re nearing the end of the road for season 7 of Dana White’s Contender Series with just two weeks remaining.

This event will feature just four fights due to Lucas Rocha missing weight for his scheduled flyweight bout with Davi Bettincourt, they are rumored to be moving the bout to week 10.

Here’s how the whole card played out.

Rodolfo Bellato vs. Murtaza Talha

In the main event, Rodolfo Bellato finally earned his DWCS win with a TKO over Murtaza Talha, likely earning him the long awaited contract.

Eduardo Torres Caut vs. Victor Hugo

It took just two rounds for Victor Hugo to find the submission, finishing Eduardo Torres Caut with a brutal knee bar. Hugo was the favorite entering the contest.

Magomed Gadzhiyasulov vs. Jose Medina

Magomed Gadzhiyasulov was a -1000 betting favorite coming into his fight with Jose Medina, so when the fight went to the second round, we were all quite shocked. And we were shocked again when it went to the third round, it wasn’t supposed to go like this. The fight went to the scorecards, but its unlikely he’ll get a contract with that performance.

OFFICIAL RESULTS: Magomed Gadzhiyasulov defeated Jose Medina via unanimous decision (30-27 x3)

Maurico Ruffy vs. Raimond Magomedaliev

Brazil’s Mauricio Ruffy took on the favorite, Russia’s Raimond Magomedaliev to open the card. The mostly stand-up affair saw both man trading good shots, landing and eating big kicks and fighting as hard as they could to finish the fight and impress Dana White but it was Ruffy who earned the finish in the final seconds of the fight
