UFC Fight Night: Cannonier v Imavov Weigh-in
Eduarda Moura | Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images

Eduarda Moura might have to consider changing divisions.

The Brazilian was the lone fighter to miss weight at Friday’s official weigh-ins for UFC Louisville, which takes place Saturday at KFC Yum! Center. Though Moura only missed by half a pound, coming in at 116.5, she has now missed weight in both of her UFC appearances since being signed off of the Contender Series in August 2023.

See Moura’s weigh-in gaffe below.

Moura previously missed weight for her UFC debut against Montserrat Conejo. For that fight, Moura weighed in at 119.5 pounds, 3.5 pounds over the strawweight limit. She has been scheduled to compete at the 115-pound limit for her past four fights, but has booked bouts in higher weight classes prior to joining the UFC.

The main event weigh-ins went off without a hitch as middleweight contenders Jared Cannonier and Nassourdine Imavov—No. 5 and No. 11, respectively, in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings—both successfully made weight at 185 pounds.

Several other fighters had difficulty at the scale, including Montana De La Rosa, Denise Gomes, Brad Katona, and Punahele Soriano. All came in heavy on their first attempts, but after stripping down and weighing in again with coverage from a box, they hit the mark to make their bouts official.

See official UFC Louisville weigh-in results below.

Main Card (ESPN and ESPN+, 8 p.m. ET)

Jared Cannonier (185) vs. Nassourdine Imavov (185)

Dominick Reyes (205) vs. Dustin Jacoby (204.5)

Raul Rosas Jr. (136) vs. Ricky Turcios (136)

Brunno Ferreira (186) vs. Dustin Stoltzfus (184.5)

Julian Marquez (185.5) vs. Zachary Reese (185)

Miguel Baeza (171) vs. Punahele Soriano (171)

Preliminary Card (ESPN+, 5 p.m. ET)

Thiago Moises (156) vs. Ludovit Klein (156)

Charlie Radtke (171) vs. Carlos Prates (169.5)

Brad Katona (136) vs. Jesse Butler (136)

Andrea Lee (126) vs. Montana De La Rosa (126)

John Castaneda (136) vs. Daniel Marcos (135.25)

Eduarda Moura (116.5)* vs. Denise Gomes (116)

Cody Stamann (135.75) vs. Taylor Lapilus (135.5)

Rayanne dos Santos (116) vs. Puja Tomar (116)

*Moura missed weight. Her bout with Denise Gomes proceeds as a catchweight with Moura forfeiting 20 percent of her purse as penalty, per UFC

UFC 264: Poirier v McGregor 3
Conor McGregor | Photo By Thomas King/Sportsfile via Getty Images

Conor McGregor wants the world to know that he’s ready for his comeback.

Understandably, doubts have been raised over McGregor’s preparation for the June 29 UFC 303 event, which sees “The Notorious” return from a near-three-year hiatus to take on Michael Chandler in a headlining welterweight bout. McGregor recently cancelled a press conference in Dublin, Ireland, and now some are wondering if the fight will even take place as scheduled.

Neither McGregor nor the UFC have officially said why the Dublin stop was cancelled, but the two-division champion has continued to post to social media in the aftermath, including a series of training clips that he shared on Instagram.

In the footage, McGregor shows off a number of techniques including his signature striking style as well as working on his takedown defense. The latter could come in handy should the wrestling-adept Chandler decide to put McGregor on his back.

It should be noted that it is not known that it is not known when these clips were filmed, so it’s unclear whether this is an encouraging sign for the June 29 date.

McGregor also recently shared an image of himself grinning and appearing to be in good health, though he declined to provide a caption or commentary.

Should McGregor make the walk to the octagon at UFC 303, it will mark his first fight since July 2021. In his most recent bout, McGregor broke his leg in the first round of a trilogy bout against rival Dustin Poirier, and he has spent much of the past three years recovering from injury.

Does McGregor’s online activity make you more optimistic that the Chandler fight will proceed as scheduled? Let us know in the comments below.

Conor McGregor has been putting in the work and is now looking incredibly sharp in his sparring sessions ahead of his scheduled return.

Uncertainty clouded the Irishman’s future in the sport after he was blamed for the cancelation of his press conference in Dublin, Ireland. Alongside the failed media appearance, ESPN MMA removed all things related to UFC 303 from their website, leading fans to believe the fight would not go ahead.

While a lot of confusion still surrounds the Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler matchup, there could be hope. Amid all of the negative news about the fight, ‘The Notorious’ has released a training montage on social media.

Not only does this silence those who believes McGregor has not been training, but he also continues to look incredibly dangerous on the feet. The former two-division UFC champion showcased some excellent timing and power during his striking exchanges, and gave fans a brief look at his defensive grappling.

As we’ve come accustomed to, McGregor was finishing his sparring partners with huge shots to the body and head.

Check out the sparring footage below.

Related: Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler set for cancelation?

Conor McGregor’s two-year layoff would have been accompanied by a record-breaking return to the cage. According to Dana White, UFC 303 has already broken the record for the highest gate received in the company’s history.

Michael Chandler has been waiting in limbo for news on his fight, which is now just three weeks away. If McGregor doesn’t turn up, one former champion has welcomed the chance to be his replacement.

Once news surfaced that the UFC 303 main event could be in jeopardy, Alexander Volkanovski jumped at the opportunity. Wasting no time, the Australian insisted that if McGregor couldn’t make it on June 29, he would happily step in to face the dangerous Chandler on short notice.

A proposed settlement agreement from the big UFC anti-trust lawsuit has been filed, and it gives details on how much money individual fighters will make from the $ 335 million deal.

The specific terms of a proposed settlement between the UFC and fighters in the big Le vs. Zuffa antitrust case are out, and while there will be no big changes to the way the UFC does business as a result, a lot of fighters are gonna make a little money. Some are going to make a lot. And then there’s Conor McGregor, who stands to make millions.

Details of the settlement were broken down in a special two-part podcast by reporter John Nash, who has been covering the monopsony case for years. While the agreement still needs to be accepted by a judge, all signs point towards fighters receiving a $ 335 million settlement from UFC. The lawyers who worked on behalf of fighters in this case since 2014 are asking for $ 120 million, which leaves $ 215 million to be distributed amongst qualifying fighters.

How much a fighter will make depends on when he fought for the promotion. 75% of that $ 215 million goes to fighters who competed between 2010 to 2017 — the time period covered in the original Le vs. Zuffa case. The other 25% covers fighters after 2017 that didn’t sign a UFC contract that waives their ability to participate in class action lawsuits.

The minimum settlement amount any qualifying fighter will earn is $ 8000. From there, fighters get paid based off what they made during the class period. So the more they made at the time, the more they’re getting paid in this settlement. Which is good news for Conor McGregor.

“Conor McGregor made $ 27 million during the Le class period from 2010 to 2017,” Nash explained. “We know that because the the trial revealed that. So that $ 27 million would be about 4.85% of the total earnings paid out [by UFC] in compensation during the lead class period. So that means he’d get 4.85% of $ 129 million.”

“So about $ 6 million would be going to him.”

That’s all well and good for McGregor, who is quickly approaching billionaire status with his whiskey brand. But what about your favorite fighters from 2010 to 2017 who actually need the money?

“An easy way [to calculate] is to combine all your income you made during the Le period as a fighter, and take 23 percent of that,” Nash said. “That should be how much your compensation will be.”

So if a fighter made $ 1 million in the UFC during that period, they’re looking at roughly $ 230,000 in settlement money from the UFC. That’s a decent chunk of change, and it only took the fighters ten years and over a hundred million in legal fees to get!
