Ryan Garcia can breathe a little easier.

On Wednesday, veteran boxing reporter Dan Rafael reported that Garcia has been cleared of a potential positive drug test for the 19-Norandrosterone metabolite, which derives from the banned substance nandrolone. Garcia initially tested positive for the metabolite, but results were unconfirmed, pending further analysis via Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS). Those results are now been confirmed to be negative.

However, Garcia also tested positive for the banned substance ostarine in samples collected on April 19 and April 20, the day before and the day of his recent win over Devin Haney. Garcia’s team has contested those findings by requesting the testing of a B-sample, of which the results are still pending. The samples are expected to be opened on May 22, per Rafael.

Garcia has denied knowingly using any performance-enhancing drugs and he tweeted several responses to Wednesday’s update, touting his supposed vindication.

So yall realize I didn’t fail the tests now

No substance other then this imaginary ostrich substance

Level so low wouldn’t have any effect

THEY TRIED BUT NO LIE STANDS

PRAISE GOD

According to Rafael, there is no allowable threshold for ostarine. Should any amount be detected in Garcia’s B-sample, it will be considered a positive test.

Garcia added that for his next fight, he will allow his opponent to be on performance-enhancing drugs.

I will let the next man I fight

Fight me with steroids

I will eat only oranges for a month straight and destroy him

Garcia defeated Haney via majority decision in a bout that saw Garcia score three knockdowns in the fight. This marked the first defeat for Haney in 32 pro bouts. The fight was to be for Haney’s WBC super lightweight title, but Garcia missed weight by three pounds and was ineligible to win the belt.

Haney responded to Garcia’s comments on his drug test via social media:

Levels high enough to test positive.. obviously it would have an effect.. u dirty bitch
